Donal holds a Level 8 Honour’s degree in Psychology and also a Level 9 Master’s degree in Systemic Psychotherapy. This means he has reached the national and European highest standard for training in Psychotherapy and he is registered with FTAI and ICP.

Donal has dedicated his career to the mental health field since 2009. His degree in psychology prepared him to work with challenging cases in a residential service, where he supported patients with mental health issues and brain injury. While working alongside Clinical Psychologists, he gained skills that have been valuable in his professional growth.

Graduating from UCD with the Mater Hospital, he completed his training as a Systemic Psychotherapist between 2012 and 2016. Following that, Donal has worked in the HSE, Low-Cost Services, and has dedicated the past six years to Primary Care Mental Health in a private company. Donal also managed the Primary Care service for over 2 years. Donal has clients of all ages, starting from 5 years old.

Throughout the past 6 years, he has noticed a continuous rise in the demand for mental health professionals who are affordable and extensively trained. Donal takes pleasure in meeting new clients, understanding their needs, and helping them achieve their goals.

Donal is primarily in Edenderry Co Offaly now and is also offering online sessions via a secure end to end encrypted system, Power Diary. (Keep in mind that online sessions are not available for children and adolescents).

Donal’s approach is informed by an eclectic mix of systemic skills, narrative therapy and some solution focussed or CBT ideas for some shorter term work.
